Learn how you can make a difference

Make a lasting impact with your teammates for years to come! You are invited to “team up” with a team in need across the world — enabling them to experience a place of hope, purpose, belonging and opportunity through sport.

Sponsor

Team up to sponsor a team in need. Your sponsorship will support an entire team to be able to be able to train, compete and have access to development programs not limited to but including: education, community impact, life-skills & leadership training. Building future leaders for a changed generation.

Empower

Communicate, inspire and build relationships by connecting with team leaders and engaging in coaching opportunities. You and your team will have the opportunity to build into young leaders through coaching education, such as building session plans for your sponsor team.

Impact

Your support means the world and can create lasting impact for years to come. With that, we believe it’s important you see and hear the impact you are making each month. Expect to receive a monthly report with updates about your sponsor team & the impact you are making together!

What your sponsorship will support:

  • Sports Program

    The largest portion of your sponsorship support will go directly to the sports program. This will include funding for team kits & equipment, coaching & referee costs, league fees, and TeamUp Cup tournament transportation.

  • Education

    Many kids don’t often go to school because of costs and more pressuring needs to take care of family. By sponsoring the team, you will provide them will the opportunity to go to school. Just $50 a year can provide a child with an education.

  • Community Impact Program

    A vital component to relieving poverty & improving quality of life in the Mitongwe region. The community impact program will teach kids how to take care of their own community through programs related to: reforestation, stove building, nutrition, education literacy, life-skills, and leadership training.

  • Community Sustainable Food Gardens

    Enabling a sustainable source of food and income, the garden program will provide: vegetable seeds, plant materials, gardening equipment, and a drip-feed irrigation system in order to support the athletes & their families.

  • Agroforestry

    Deforestation is a major issue in Mitongwe, Malawi. Through education in agroforestry, the athletes will learn the importance of why and how to take care of their environment, in hopes to drastically reduce the effects of deforestation.

FAQs

  • Your sponsorship will go directly towards supporting the team and the overall growth of the sports program in Malawi.

    In addition, you will impact the lives of the kids/athletes in fundamental growth areas that are a necessity to survival in Mitongwe, Malawi and will aid in poverty relief through programs of: education, community impact (reforestation, stove building, nutrition, literacy, life-skills & leadership training), community sustainable food gardens & agroforestry.

    There will also be a small administrative fee related to facilitating the partnership (including communication & bank fees).

  • If your team decides to sponsor/team up with a team, the sponsorship will be for one year. Your team will have the option to extend the sponsorship before the beginning of the following year.

  • The cost to currently sponsor a team is $2000 CAD

  • We are happy to inform you that your sponsorship package includes the ability to utilize our crowdfunding platform.

    We will provide you with your very own, customizable fundraising page to let your family, friends and supporters know about the awesome impact you and your teammates are making!

    This allows your team to raise funds through community support and allows others to join the journey with you.

    We also encourage you to run physical fundraisers as you see fit. This will help your team get the word out about the good you are doing. TeamUp is here to help and support you through this.

  • Once you fill out the form/questionnaire, one of our staff members will get in touch as soon as possible to schedule an orientation time with you and your team. We believe it is important to walk through the process, to make sure everyone is on the same page and get you excited about the impact you can make together!

  • Your team will have the opportunity to learn more about how sports can be used a tool to impact others.

    By taking a wholistic approach to supporting and sponsoring a team, you will learn more about global realities related to poverty, cultural differences, as well as the opportunity to participate in coaching education that will improve and put your understanding of the game into practice.

    Through the sponsorship program, your team is invited to grow, experience, and impact others, by actively participating in a cause that will create a lasting impact beyond the pitch.
