Day 2 in Peru

Our team split into two groups and headed to serve in the communities of Manchay and Villa María del Triunfo, Peru. In Manchay, our day started with shovelling dirt into bags, lugging them up hills, stairs and mountain sides, to multiple family homes in the community. By request of each family, we laid the dirt in rows, providing a great foundation for them to begin planting their own sustainable food gardens.
After some lunch, we made our way to the fútbol field , where we were greeted with wonderful welcome signs & handmade posters. After a quick warm up and some technical skills, things got competitive. Our volunteers and the soccer kids joined together in a full-field scrimmage. There may have been some questionable calls from the referee but it was all fun and games :)
