Our Final Day in Peru

Continued Impact in the Hills of VMT
After a lovely morning spent exploring downtown Lima, a group of us enjoyed some much needed rest at the hotel while the rest of us headed back to VMT for a high-stakes game of fútbol against the moms and dads of the children who have been attending our coaching clinics. Cooking oil and pasta made up the winner’s prize and were duly claimed by the parents after they beat us in a hard-fought game.
We were good sports about it, however, congratulating our opponents and smiling for the camera at the end of the game. We even managed to spend some good time in community with our friends at Camino de Vida before taking off for the Jorge Chávez International Airport.
The Spartans will be settling back into BC on Monday and will next be in action when they host the Vancouver Whitecaps’ youth team on Friday, March 8th at 6pm. As for the rest of the TeamUp crew, the 2024 Peru Impact Trip may be over, but the impact continues in the hills of VMT, Manchay, Tarapoto, Yurimaguas — and beyond!
