Day 14 in Paraguay

The Last Day of the Trip

May 11, 2022

Our last day of the South America Impact Trip

And just like that, the time has come. Tomorrow we will already be on our way home to Canada.

Despite the sadness of saying goodbye to old and news friends, it was another incredibly impactful day of work projects and playing soccer with the kids.

We spent the day assisting with the final work projects of the trip in two different communities. In the community of Ko’e Pyahu, we helped with the continued construction of the extension to the community centre. This is a community centre that feeds kids, has adult education programs, and is a place for kids to gather — including those involved in the local soccer school.

We also spent time with our friend’s in New Italy (Neuva Italia), continuing with the construction of the new lunch room (nutrition station) and change room for the soccer school. This nutrition station will feed over 80 kids in the local community.

We want to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who has supported this trip and especially the work projects that have been able to happen because of your support!

After our day in the communities, we were able to catch a professional soccer game for our last night in Paraguay. The crew decided to go all out with jerseys to support the home team ‘Cerro Porteño.’ It was a wonderful experience to wrap up the trip with our partners, Deporvida, who also joined for the match.

Thank you for journeying with us! It has been a joy to share the trip with you and we look forward to many years of great impact ahead.
